The baby boomer generation spans from births in 1946 to 1964. They make up about 26% of the U.S. population. They were very instrumental in bringing about many of the things we take for granted today. About the time the first baby boomers were being born, the average cost of a new home was $5,600. You could buy a tie for $1.50. It was an exciting time when World War II came to an end and the GI bill made housing and education affordable. Here’s what was happening in the U.S. between 1946 and 1949. Next time I’ll share with you what were some of the inventions taking place when the 1950 to 1953 boomers were being born.
