CHANGING FOR GOOD

A Personality Guide to
Lifelong Healthy Decisions

The Choice is Yours!

Finally, a book that honors who you are.  Let’s face it, everything we do is based on a decision we’ve made.  Interestingly, those decisions are based on our personality type.  Given a similar situation, people of different types may decide differently.  Just think, though, what if you could control how your brain makes those decisions?  Maybe then you’d end up with healthier decisions more of the time.

Changing for Good wants you to live life on your terms.

What you’ll learn in this book

  • You can’t be taught intuition.  Your personality type is your intuition. Learn how to use it.
  • Away with rules — instead, you decide.
  • It could be your shadow side that’s the problem.
  • Discover what your personality type is.
  • Delve deep into personality typing.
  • Learn how we naturally makes decisions (which isn’t always the best!)
  • Learn about the Z-Pattern of decision-making and how to use it.
  • To eat or not to eat? — You decide.
  • To exercise or not to exercise? — You decide.
  • To relax or not to relax? — You decide.
  • Making change last!

Praise for “Changing for Good”

There is Intuitive Eating and now there is Changing for Good, a personality-based approach to eating and lifestyle habits. Wennik is an RDN and certified expert in the use of the MBTI® (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator®) who puts the power of healthier lifestyle choices back into your hands with a practical game plan called the Z-Pattern of decision-making based on The MBTI®! The author helps readers identify their type and understand their dominant personality trait after answering a short easy-to-take quiz. Through fun pictures, step-by-step exercises and practical examples, the author demonstrates how this approach helps with the what-why-when of making food and other decisions on the best and worst days. The author includes comprehensive holistic recommendations to balance healthy eating (distinguishing appetite versus hunger), exercise, stress and relaxation. This is a perfect tool for dietitians counseling clients to make mindful decisions about their lifestyle choices. Included are downloadable journaling forms.

This book was absolutely fabulous! Thank you for your contribution in this field. There are so many comments I could make, but I’ll give a stab in the following two. Roberta proposes a “just right for you” plan that easily navigates how to bring about healthy habits that result in a confirmed, positive life style –no matter the current problems or history to reaching this desired state. Her logic is eye opening and should not only be required reading for all nutrition students but will set the stage for ending all the fad diet books not yet published!  Roberta spells out how to navigate a decent relationship with food based on personality. We all have one, so why not approach our food decisions based on the way we think and act –the same as we do for most all of our daily decisions. These simple and sound principles will set you free because it unleashes the secrets of every individual and once and for all settles the perfect, personal pathway to health. No nutrition professional should be without this book and is a must read for individuals!

Congratulations. I look forward to seeing this on the NYT Best Seller’s List!

With this book, Roberta is marrying her deep knowledge of wellness and diet to the field of type to help answer the question of “So what?’ that so often arises after someone is introduced to Psychological Type.  Type training clearly has a new voice and application area.

THIS BOOK IS NOT ABOUT A DIET!  Changing for Good is based on tested principles of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®), sound nutrition and healthy lifestyle principles.  It describes a way of living.  As food in our world becomes more “convenient”, giving rise to nutrition bars, meal replacement drinks, pre-made meals from the grocery freezer or by mail, we’ve lost touch with eating to hunger, focusing on nutrient-dense foods, and mindfully enjoying taste. Instead, many of us select meals and snacks based on foods that only titillate the taste buds. In these cases, addictive tendencies may take precedence instead of mindful enjoyment of food to nourish the body and the soul.

Roberta Wennik, M.S., R.D. a registered dietitian and expert in MBTI®, brings these areas of knowledge together in Changing for Good. Her careful explanation of the MBTI®, along with practical examples, enables readers to assess themselves and interpret their personal results. Even better, in the second part of the book, Wennik provides an in-depth explanation of how to use this information to make rational lifestyle decisions to improve or maintain a healthy body. After years of calorie and carbohydrate counting; restricting “bad” foods, then bingeing on ice cream, here’s an approach that finally makes sense.

Changing for Good is not a book of dieting rules. In fact, it’s not a diet book at all. Diet plans squeeze the person into a rigid plan. This book is different. This book fits a flexible, unique plan to the person. Roberta Wennik brings her readers a new way of seeing their choices about food for what they really are – a series of small decisions that move readers towards or away from their health goals. It applies mindful, personalized decision-making skills to food, exercise, and stress and provides readers with a new approach. The reader is led through determining their Personality Type and then shown how to use the Z-Pattern of decision-making to make better decisions. By following the Z-Pattern to decide whether “to eat or not to eat,” the reader will move towards a healthier weight and better overall health – they will learn to decide mindfully in order to live intuitively.
